About Us

Nina

Yo.  It’s me.  Nina.  I love adventure.  I love Jesus.  Animals make me happy…pretty much any animal…seriously…I met an albino boa constrictor once, and she won my heart. I love travel in an insane kind of way.  I’ve seen the world and I’ve seen it again.  I’ve hiked the foothills of the Himalayas, and I’ve walked the streets of Kolkata, India.  I’ve climbed the mountains of Norway, and I’ve shopped the markets of Mexico. I’m fluent in conversational Spanish..the Mexican kind…because it’s the best, and because I lived there when I was a wee lass of 15 years old (no, I’m not irish…I just like to say “wee lass”). I’m a mother of two beautiful babes who were made in Ethiopia and loved by a beautiful Ethiopian mama.  I am the wife to an insanely smart man who loves Sherlock Holmes and Scoobydoo.  I am an international wedding photographer (see Nina & Wes Photography for more of that), and the founder of the Beyond Workshop. I just recently became a distributor for Young Living, because I believe in their products that much…they have been the gateway to a chemical-free life for my little family, and I’m never going back! This is why I want to share them with the world, because I know what a difference a healthier life can make (emotionally, physically, and spiritually!).

My life is an open book. I invite you to read it. My family and I choose to live our lives in expectancy and hope; seeing the world through the eyes of compassion and humility.

Wes

Wes is a husband to Nina, a father to twins, and a seeker of Truth. He attended Oxford University in 2017-18 to study Apologetics and Theology.  In fact, the entire family moved to Oxford. When He is not trying to reason out some thought theologically and logically, he loves to play basketball, hike, read CS Lewis or Sherlock Holmes books, drink bourbon, and smoke a pipe.

“I have learned so many lessons in life. Many of them I had to relearn again and again, but that’s where joy is found.  I find it in a smile or an awkward situation where I used to be embarrassed or stressed out. You can miss the little moments. It is the culmination of little moments that, when realized and understood, reveal the big, life-changing ones. We don’t change overnight, we change minute-by-minute.”
